3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4, ESV)
How do you comfort a loved one or a friend who is facing tough times? What do you say the Soldier who receives a ‘Dear John’ letter or whose family member dies? Those words come from God. We receive it when we suffer some of the pains of life. Because God, Jesus Christ has suffered, He shares our pain. In turn, we share the pain of those close to us.
Prayer: Lord, bring me comfort and help me comfort others.
