Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. (Proverbs 16:32, ESV)

The warrior ethos has been dominant since the beginnings of civilization. But according to scripture, there is something greater – patience. The ability to wait. The Army is infamous for making us wait. We can stand in lines for whatever we want, but can we be just as patience with the people we work with. Can we demonstrate the same patience with people’s failures as God does with ours?

Prayer: Lord, make me a man of patience.
