Daily Devotional

22 July

16 One who is wise is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is reckless and careless. 17 A man of quick temper acts foolishly, and a man of evil devices is hated. (Proverbs 14:16-17, ESV)

Have you ever been so angry that you weren’t thinking straight and did something stupid? I think most of us have been there. There are a few of us that deal with that on a regular basis. The Lord challenges us to bring that anger under control. He calls those folks fools. How can you deal with that uncontrollable anger? The moment there is an outburst is just the flash; the issue that causes it may be the real problem. The next time you lose it, figure out what was the real issue and deal with that instead of blowing up.

Prayer: Lord, let my words be laced with your grace and patience for your glory.
