24 July

13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance. (1 Peter 1:13-14, ESV)

Living with the realization that Jesus Christ may come back at any moment can give us many thoughts and feelings. We are excited at the prospect of not dealing with sin anymore. We are somewhat regretful, knowing that there are others that do not know Him and will be left behind. We are also filled with the motivation to do what is right, wishing to be found faithful when He returns. Our hope is in the fact that He is coming to reward His followers – not punish them.

Prayer: Lord, help my life to be changed from the inside out.
