Daily Devotional

1 August

So that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:12, ESV)

I’m sure we all have seen somewhere in movies or TV a person born with ‘A Silver Spoon in their mouth’ or the portrayal of the person inheriting a fortune. Often, these folks are not cast in a good light. They are shown as lazy, trouble-makers, greedy, and useless to society. God here challenges us to be the opposite. We are promised far more than the greatest wealth for an inheritance, but we are to be faithful in our work for the Lord while we wait for the promise to be fulfilled.

Prayer: Lord, let me be productive for you.
