10 August

17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. 19 So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding. (Romans 14:17-19, ESV)

What is your goal in living the Christian life? Is it to be right before men and pushing that rightness on them? Or, are you more interested in being righteous before our Lord and Savior? Jesus is more impressed with our servant spirit toward others than He is of our ability to prove our rightness to them. Demonstrate the peace of Christ to others.

Prayer: Lord, I want to serve you and find all my reward solely in you.
