25 September

Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2, ESV)

When running a race, it is drilled into the runners’ head to stay focused on the finish line. Don’t be so concerned with those around you or the crowds cheering you on – just on the tape at the end. In life, that tape is Jesus Christ. Focus your attention on Him in all you do, in how you live your life, in all your decisions. He is the only worthy goal. He has a far greater prize waiting than anything offered in this world.

Prayer: Lord, you are the goal and object of my life, faith, and salvation.
