Daily Devotion

7 November

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as was his custom, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read. (Luke 4:16, ESV)

If recent polls can be trusted, an upsurge of Lone Ranger spirituality is occurring in the US. Church attendance is down. Biblical beliefs are being abandoned. More and more of our fellow citizens are looking inward, online, and out-of-doors for the uplift they once sought in church sanctuaries. How different from Jesus! He made it his practice to join in worship regularly. If the Son of God needed to be there, how much more do we need to!

Prayer: Lord, give me fellowship with other believers.

I like that you mention fellowship with other believers, today I was able to fellowship with other believers in the sauna of all places, but it was nice to hear encouraging words and talk about the grace of God I life and marriage (the topic of the half hour sauna session) and I’m glad I had good things to say about it and was able to help someone else.
