Here are is a random thought to start a conversation. I look forward to hearing from you. Be sure to Like and Subscribe.

So I was thinking… (What do I want to be when I grow up?)

You know those people who decide at age 6 they’re going to be a nurse or a pilot or an architect? My wife is not like that. She still jokes that she doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up.” And I respond with what has become my automatic counter statement, “You know you are grown, right?”

What I really want to talk about is the need to dream together as a couple. Do you share your dreams, desires, and aspirations with your loved one? One issue I have seen, along the way as a chaplain, are couples who have stopped dreaming together and stopped sharing their goals with each other.

This is one of those reason couples begin to go down divergent paths rather than a shared path. Have you asked your husband or wife lately, “What are your dreams? What are your goals? What do you want to accomplish? What is your vision of the future? What do you wan to do when you grow up?”

Have you struggled with finding things to talk about? How about you start sharing your imaginations, and dream big. Proverbs 19:18 says, “where there is no vision, the people perish.”

Don’t perish. Think Big. Dream Big. Believe big. And your results will be big. That sounds like a good conversation for tonight.

Those are my thoughts. What are your’s?

  1. We dream of owning enough livestock that Scott can finally be what he has always wanted to be when he grows up. A full time cowboy. And of course I’m working towards any dream of teaching.
